SUECO Pittsburgh PA 10/29/24 (A Parent's Perspective) Show Review

nfg

Sueco, just released the deluxe version of his sophomore album Attempted Lover! As his first-ever independently released album, these tracks hit milestone records this summer for him, with some songs reaching upwards of 10M streams and going viral on TikTok.

Sueco’s been on the road in promotion for this record on the also titled ATTEMPTED LOVER’S TOUR, hitting major North American cities like LA, Chicago, Detroit, Philly and of course my hometown of Pittsburgh PA, where I recently saw him live.

Tuesday, October 29th, 2024. SUECO rolls into Pittsburgh on the ATTEMPTED LOVER’s TOUR at one of my favorite venues The Roxian Theatre in McKees Rocks PA, just outside of Pittsburgh.

Bringing with him just one opener for the tour, I knew it was going to be a jam packed night of Sueco bangers dialing in from all over his career thus far as a multi-genre artist.

His opening act was a fellow trap/hip-hop/rocker entitled SUICIDAL IDOL, a solo artist who dished out nearly an hour of hip-hop meets EDM and emo infused jams, the perfect opening act to get the crowd pumped for Sueco.

Sueco came out to a near sold out Pittsburgh crowd. Coming out to Creed’s “Higher”, which honestly got the crowd so pumped, kicked off with two tracks off his new album ATTEMPTED LOVER, “Bathroom Floor” and “Anastasia”, then jumped into “SOS” from his 2022 album “It Was Fun While It Lasted”, having the whole crowd get down and jump up during the chorus of the track.

One of my favorite tracks “Sober” was up, from the same record. I absolutely loved the saeylist for the night. It was so diverse. It was all over the place with tracks that had a lot of the straight up hip-hop influence to the rock/emo influence to the hybrid tracks which were exactly what the next few tracks were, “452am” a mellow acoustic-esque track, “Next Ex”, a hip-hop infused rock banger, “It’s Going Good” a straight up pop-punk/emo tune and one of my favorites and track “Drunk Dial”, a fan favorite and one of my own favorites.

Throughout the show, Sueco took time to shoutout his latest deluxe album of ATTEMPTED LOVER and threw out no less than half a dozen signed albums. One part of the show he broke the crowd up into 3 groups and depending on how loud they were, which was judged by a decibel meter, determined which part of the crowd would get records thrown at them.

Sueco took it back to his more straight up hip-hop tracks with song “Fast” next, a huge fan favorite. With 3 bangers “Outta My Head”, one of his new singles, “POS”, an absolute fan sing along especially the “SHUT THE FUCK UP” part, and track “Loser”, a throwback single from his last full length record with the set closed out with track “Paralyzed”.

Sueco came back out for one encore track, apologizing due to his voice being blown but then playing track “Mulholland Drive”. To make up for it, he spent the next 15 minutes after the house lights came on signing shirts, records and random shit from backstage including a water bottle and an Uncrustable and throwing it out to the crowd.

Sueco is genuinely one the most unique artists out there today both musically and live. His presence on and off stage definitely shows that he goes above and beyond for his fanbase and for his craft. He is one of the most insane artists live and anytime he comes through your hometown, if you’re a fan of any genre, I highly recommend his live show, you won’t be disappointed.
